We are currently seeking a SBA Loan Servicing Specialist.  This position supports the entire SBA loan portfolio and works together with all internal and external partners through the post-closing loan lifecycle. They will partner with the client, the SBA, the SBA Operations Team and the Special Assets Group with the preparation and review of SBA loan servicing requests, ongoing Servicing requirements and modification requests. The SBA Loan Coordinator is responsible for guiding the Relationship Manager and ONB Client through the SBA servicing Process through effective communication and facilitation. The SBA Loan Servicing Specialist is also responsible for working with the Operations team to ensure Client’s compliance with the stated program requirements outlined in the SBA’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on servicing actions.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with internal and external Clients to prepare a complete SBA Loan servicing application, review supporting documentation and eligibility. 
  • The spreading of financial statements, analyzing financials of the borrower and guarantors, and collateral analysis among other items following the guidelines as established by the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Respond to RM and Client questions on program requirements and allowable servicing actions.
  • Order 3rd party reports in compliance with SBA requirements. Includes but not limited to Business Valuations, Appraisals, Environmental due diligence.
  • Assess credit risk pertaining to requests for new or renewals of existing loans to new or existing customers, primarily through the analysis of financial statements, credit history and collateral documentation.
  • Responsible for staying abreast of SOP changes and maintaining a proficiency in the SBA’s SOP requirements and Bank Policies
  • Maintain productive and effective relationships with the SBA Operations Team, other Bank lines of business and support groups.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred – HS diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3+ years commercial loan processing or related experience
  • Three to five years of experience in SBA lending
  • Advanced Knowledge of SBA 7a guaranteed, 504 and Express loan program requirements
  • Exemplary communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle information gathering for multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail, in a fast-paced, high-production professional environment exhibiting strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to read the audience and engage appropriately
