Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Cloud Engineer specializing in AWS (Amazon Web Services), plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions that enhance end-user experiences, security, and productivity. This role requires expertise in managing cloud environments, following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and implementing DevOps principles will contribute to Old National Bank’s transformational journey. This role will have leadership responsibility over managed service providers.

 

Key Accountabilities

#1 - Strategic & Governance Responsibilities

  • Establish and enforce cloud governance policies, while optimizing costs by analyzing usage patterns and scaling resources accordingly. Manage budgets and track spending effectively.
  • Oversee managed service providers (MSP), ensuring the delivery of IT services meets expectations, monitoring performance, and maintaining communication to achieve agreed service levels and performance metrics.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of AWS, including networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery, using industry standards and best practices.

#2 - Technical & Operational Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring compliance with SDLC and DevOps best practices.
  • Use tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible to write and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), enabling automated deployment, scaling, and management of cloud resources.
  • Monitor and manage the performance, availability, and cost of AWS resources using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS Cost Management, and third-party solutions, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

#3 - Collaboration & Support Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders on AWS best practices, troubleshooting, and optimization, acting as a trusted advisor and partner.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows, ensuring efficient code deployment and adherence to coding standards.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in AWS Cloud Computing Services or similar cloud solutions.
  • Experience in using the SDLC to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable cloud-based applications.
  • Proficient in AWS administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud migration, backup, and disaster recovery solutions in AWS.
  • Experience with designing and implementing endpoint management strategies using AWS Systems Manager or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in AWS technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) is a plus.
