Responsibilities

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $98,400 - $199,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined by location, skills, experience, qualifications and the career level at which the position is filled.

 

Position Summary

 

The Technical Product Owner is a technical expert and thought leader who works in partnership with the Director of Product Engineering to bring Old National Bank into the next generation of financial services technology. As someone with a depth and breadth of technical knowledge, you'll be embedded in engineering teams and work closely with lines of business to create solutions across a broad spectrum of capabilities, including API platforms, cloud-native banking services, and GenAI applications.

As a product owner, this role understands customer and product requirements, simplifies user stories and epics, and builds product roadmaps alongside internal and external stakeholders. Using your exceptional ability to communicate clearly and effectively, you'll advise and interface daily with engineering teams, product managers, and executive leaders to manage concerns and keep work moving forward.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understands core software concepts (APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and CI/CD) to the extent that you can read and interpret architecture diagrams and identify technical gaps in planned implementations.
  • Translates the business needs of non-technical stakeholders into actionable technical requirements, refined backlogs, and product roadmaps aligned with strategic goals.
  • Evaluates data, dependencies, and risks to guide prioritization and ensure effective solution delivery.
  • Communicates complex technical concepts clearly and aligns expectations across all levels of the organization.
  • Possesses deep understanding of the product ecosystem in a highly regulated environment, which includes compliance, governance, audits, and security controls.
  • Participates in scrum ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, refinement, and release planning.
  • Prioritizes customer experience both internal and external throughout the product development process to ensure solutions deliver maximum value for end users.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Extensive experience in technical business analysis in a related industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects/tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization.
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed.
