Responsibilities

Old National Bank is currently looking to fill the role of Data Modeler. This role will assist with creating a unified data model that will be central to all Data Governance activities and help set the foundation for our Master Data Management strategy. The Data Modeler position will require knowledge of enterprise data architecture, data governance, data analysis, business analysis, and technical tools. This includes crucial external and internal reporting, line of business specific needs, and system integrations. Activities will include working with stakeholders, subject matter experts, business analysts, and technical teams to execute, maintain, and own the Old National Core Data Model.

 

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $62.300 - $122,400 per year. Final salary will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, skills and qualifications.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Execution of Data Management and Data Governance roadmaps in accordance with direction from direct leadership and executive leadership.
  • Create and maintain Old National’s data model to support a unified view of all applicable systems.
  • Ensure all Data Governance Standards are followed.
  • Work with Data Governance Officer and IT Leaders to establish Data Best Practices and Guidance.

 

Key Competencies for Position

  • Data Analysis and Modeling:
    • Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective data models within the modern data platform.
    • Develop and maintain data models based on medallion architecture principles, ensuring data quality, scalability, and governance.
    • Collaborate with business data officers, business analysts and subject matter experts to understand data needs and requirements.
    • Partners with various functions to create a holistic 360 view of common / shared data across LOB's.
  • Data Governance:
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures across the enterprise.
    • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the organization, leveraging tools and services.
    • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies and anomalies using data governance best practices.
    • Maintain data dictionaries and metadata within Purview.
  • Modern Data Platform Design:
    • Design and optimize database structures within Azure to support efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
    • Select appropriate database technologies and platforms based on business needs and medallion architecture principles.
  • Data Integration:
    • Partner with Engineering Group to develop and maintain data integration strategies and processes using Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics.
    • Partner with Engineering Group to design and implement data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into Azure data stores.
    • Ensure data consistency and accuracy across different systems.
  • Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence:
    • Support the development and maintenance of the medallion architecture and LOB data marts.
    • Design and implement data marts based on medallion architecture principles to support specific business intelligence needs.
    • Collaborate with business intelligence analysts to provide data-driven insights using Power BI and other Azure analytics tools.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; advanced coursework/training related to data management, computer science, management information systems
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a variety of data models, ODS, Relational, Fact/Dimension
  • 3+ years’ experience in banking and finance
  • 3+ years’ experience working with data modeling concepts and methodologies within a medallion architecture.
  • 3+ years’ experience in data modeling tools and Azure data modeling capabilities. (e.g. PowerDesigner, Erwin, IBM Data Architect, Visio/PPT, etc.)
  • 1-2 years’ experience in ETL work
  • Understanding of reporting and data analytics to ensure overall accuracy
  • Knowledge of industry leading practices in Analytics and Data Movement
  • Solid written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and support data culture change initiatives
  • Client-centered approach to working with line of business stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to engage directly with C-level executives when sharing data, reports and presentations
  • Preferred working knowledge of banking systems and tools (MeridianLink/Loans PQ, Encompass, Velocify, Fiserv Signature, Marquis Executrax MCIF) preferred
  • Ability to manage individual projects while working as part of a team on larger initiatives
  • Preferred exposure to Six Sigma practices
