Responsibilities

The Corporate Banking Segment President serves as the top executive for the bank’s Corporate Banking segment overseeing strategy, financial performance, and growth across a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of large corporate clients and specialized industry segments. The Corporate Banking Segment President is responsible for the Corporate Banking’s overall balance sheet / income statement and is responsible for managing risk through prudent lending decisions, while adhering to quality standards both with credit administration and client service. The Corporate Banking Segment President will drive innovation, client engagement, and sustainable growth while fostering a high-performance culture aligned with the bank’s strategic vision. The revenue range of companies served in the Corporate Banking segment is approximately $40MM - $250MM and Mid-Corporate range is $250MM and above. Specialized industry segments include Asset Based Lending, Debt Capital Markets and Syndications, and Sponsor Finance.

 

Key Accountabilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the division’s strategic plan to move the segment “up-market” and increase growth, profitability, and market share.
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities in Corporate Banking segment.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to shape the bank’s long-term strategy.
  • Evolve the Corporate Banking segment to meet the heightened expectations, regulatory standards, and operational rigor required of a bank of our scale, ensuring scalability, resilience, and alignment with enterprise-wide priorities.

Achieving Sales Targets

  • Communicates sales goals, new client acquisition, and performance management of all regional Corporate Banking Director(s).
  • Provides oversight, coaching and strategic guidance to Corporate Banking Director(s) as they lead regional sales meetings, business development plans, and the coaching of their relationship managers.
  • Provides direction to Corporate Banking Director(s) regarding proactive sales activities that lead their teams to success in meeting sales and referral objectives.
  • Champion cross-segment collaboration to deliver integrated, multi-service solutions deepening client relationships, leveraging capabilities across Treasury Management, Wealth, and other lines of business to meet complex client needs and drive enterprise-wide growth.

Portfolio Management / Team:

  • Maintains responsibility for overall credit quality of the Corporate Banking segment, coaching Corporate Banking Director(s) to ensure proper levels of delinquencies and classified credits.
  • Leads team to maintain portfolio in a manner indicative of high levels of client satisfaction, while at the same time ensuring portfolio meets Old National lending standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, coach, and develop high-performing team of senior bankers and relationship managers.
  • Represent the bank in industry forums, client engagements, and public events.
  • Build strategic partnerships and alliances to expand the bank’s reach and capabilities.
  • Drive talent development and succession planning across the division.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and inclusion.
  • Performs various management responsibilities such as performance management, coaching, interviewing / hiring and ensures Corporate Banking Director(s) are trained to do the same.
  • Ensures the department is professionally trained so they can make informed credit and new business recommendations.
  • Collaborates with key internal partners / credit teams to create an outstanding culture for both associates and clients.

    • Sets strategic direction for short-and long-term goals while remaining agile to adjust plans to close current gaps, modifying priorities as circumstances change. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or Management and/or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree with emphasis in accounting or finance preferred. 
  • 15+ years of relevant Corporate Banking experience with a minimum of 5+ years of progressive leadership experience required.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, sales skills.
  • High level of emotional intelligence.

  • Achievement of segment goals for balance sheet growth and income statement improvement.
  • Achievement of segment goals for problem loan management / identification.
  • Associate and client engagement.
  • Development and retention of top talent.
