Responsibilities

Credit Portfolio Specialist (“CPS”) will leverage data and analytics, and collaborate with senior credit professionals, field production staff, data scientists, Portfolio Oversight Manager and the Chief Credit Officer (CCO) to create and manage policies, exceptions, and other credit reporting.  This role will monitor portfolio trends, make risk management recommendations, assist in developing reporting consistent with Heightened Standards, and work closely with the Portfolio Oversight Manager to ensure we maintain a well-managed credit risk management organization. The CPS role is also responsible for measuring and monitoring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory standards.

 

Salary Range

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $121,300.00. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

 

Key Accountabilities

Identify, Develop, Maintain, Update and Enhance Management Reporting consistent with Heightened Standards Expectations

  • Work with the portfolio oversight manager, credit officers and the chief credit officer to identify, develop, recommend, implement and track new management level reporting and updates to existing management level reporting.
  • Consider the reporting presentation format, frequency, data integrity, and medium and make recommendations to enhance the visual display and intranet access

Exception & Concentration Reporting

  • Manage reporting processes and ensure timely escalation of breaches (e.g., policy exception threshold breaches, sales override process, SLTV reporting, etc).
  • Collaborate with credit approvers and policy leads to refine exception frameworks and reporting cadence.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes.
  • Partner with IT and data teams to implement reporting tools.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting platforms.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field OR equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to independently (with limited oversight), understand, analyze and interpret credit risk, portfolio reporting and financial analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of loan structuring, borrowing causes and lending regulations; ability to comply, and conform to ONB lending policies, guidelines and standards
  • Must be able to make sound independent decisions and communicate those decisions clearly and effectively
  • Must be able to actively listen, quickly identify issues as well as opportunities when they arise, and problem solve in real-time to move the work accordingly
  • Must feel comfortable working in a collaborative team environment along with being an independent thinker.
  • General banking experience – Commercial Credit experience preferred.
