Responsibilities

The QA Manager, Sr oversees a technical QA Test team located on and offshore, driving quality initiatives and continuous improvement. This position sets metrics, manages internal and external resources, develops test programs, and executes test plans using various troubleshooting tools.

 

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $98,400.00 - $199,000.00. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

 

Key Accountabilities

Key Accountability 1: Quality Assurance Leadership & Strategy

  • Oversee quality assurance analysts and ensure software and IT services meet standards.
  • Implement effective test reporting and defect status systems.
  • Ensure project milestones align with IT standards.
  • Evaluate test solutions using logic and sound judgment.
  • Identify service gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Provide testing timelines and develop strategies and plans based on business requirements.

Key Accountability 2: Test Planning, Execution & Oversight

  • Review functional specifications to ensure understanding of deliverables.
  • Peer review test cases and provide feedback to team members.
  • Develop and maintain a traceability matrix documenting the end-to-end testing process.
  • Perform peer review of test execution.
  • Oversee all functional, integration, and regression testing.
  • Provide test automation insight and recommendations
  • Use/recommend test tools for transparency, repeatability and efficiency.

Key Accountability 3: Collaboration, Communication & Compliance

  • Work with Infrastructure team to set up Test Environments and Process Jobs.
  • Work with Project team to assist with test data setup.
  • Communicate test progress, results, and other relevant information to team leads or stakeholders.
  • Participate in and conduct Defect Triage meetings.
  • Ensure the capture and retention of testing artifacts for audit purposes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 5 years of experience demonstrating expert skills with software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Experience working with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • 2 or more years people leadership for the QA function. 
  • Experience working in Agile & Waterfall methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational, data gathering, documentation and follow-up skills to support multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong experience in process discovery and implementation.
  • High level of initiative is required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, quickly and accurately troubleshoot issues, problem-solve and communicate with business professionals and leadership.
  • Proficiency working with Test Management & Defect Management tools like JIRA/qTest is highly preferred.
  • Position may require the need to travel to other Technology Hub locations in Chicago, Minneapolis/St Paul and Evansville
  • Proficiency working with automation tools is preferred.
