The Corporate Healthcare lender will be a member of the Healthcare team responsible for leading ONB’s entry into the Healthcare sector, the Bank’s first specialty lending vertical. With the Bank’s focus on asset and revenue growth, the Healthcare lending vertical will provide the experienced Corporate Healthcare lender career growth opportunities and solid earnings potential, while helping to influence and shape the direction of the Bank.  We are looking for an experienced Healthcare lender to be a member of a team with forward thinking leadership who is responsible for building a de novo Healthcare specialty lending vertical. The Corporate Healthcare lender must be able to source new Healthcare clients, develop existing relationships and cross-sell the full suite of ONB’s products in the middle market and above space.  Loan originations from $10MM to $60MM with a goal of building a portfolio in excess of $250MM.


Key Accountabilities


  • Loan Origination: Prospects businesses in the Healthcare sector including for-profit and not-for-profit entities. Must have tax-exempt financing experience.
  • Works to achieve assigned personal sales goals through proactive activities and behaviors that lead to results.
  • Aligns client and bank objectives and orchestrates organizational resources and referral partners to build collaborative, client-focused relationships.
  • Uses a consultative selling approach to understand client needs and opportunities to present the most appropriate financial solutions.
  • Leverages centers of influence to build a referral network and create a pipeline of business.
  • Ensures loan requests meet current ONB Policy and Underwriting standards and guidelines by evaluating loan requests for proper purpose, structure, and pricing.
  • Partners with support staff to ensure the loan origination process meets bank and client expectations.
  • Seeks guidance and insight from other lenders and Executives to deliver the best possible loan terms for the bank and client.
  • Portfolio Management: Manages a portfolio of Healthcare clients by ensuring the relationships are maintained in a professional manner and monitors the portfolio to ensure current loan standards are met.
  • Strives to meet or exceed portfolio targets by strengthening existing client relationships and fostering new relationships.

 Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years relevant Corporate Relationship Management experience with at least 5 years focused in the Healthcare sector.
  • Must have a proven track record of successful sales performance with strong business development skills.
  • Very high level of sales, negotiation, and financial analysis skills.
  • Very high level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to orchestrate organizational resources by identifying key players, communicating relevant information, and building collaborative client-focused relationships.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of Loan Standards, Loan Review Administration and Banking/OCC Guidelines.
